Riona qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 2005 with a 1.1. degree in Physiotherapy. To date she has worked with Westmeath County Football team for a number of years, Athletics Ireland and also at the London Olympic Games 2012.
She has provided Physiotherapy cover at a large number of International events, including the World Youth Championships 2013, the Europa Cup 2009, 2013 and the European Youth Olympics 2011.
Riona is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists, which enables patients to have their visits reimbursed by VHI, Laya Healthcare and Aviva health insurance. Tax relief is also available on all Physiotherapy sessions.
Riona has a a special interest in neck and shoulder pain, and is involved in research in both these areas, with the University of Limerick and Middlesex University in London.
She has a number of post graduate qualifications: Masters in Musculoskletal Medicine, Diploma in Advanced Practise in Orthopaedic Medicine, Certificate in Spinal Manual Therapy, Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine, Post graduate qualifications in women's health issues and incontinence treatment
Riona also has experience of working in the Australia, Nigeria, the Philippines and Ireland which brings a vast amount of experience.
The practice is located at 35 Dublin Street, in a medical centre. It is almost directly opposite the courthouse, a few doors down from the courthouse hotel on the same side.
We offer a wide range of treatments including; trigger point release, manual therapy, electrotherapy, orthotics prescription (for fallen arches) and exercise prescription for both the treatment and prevention of injury.
